Deuteronomy 22:1-2

22 If you see your fellow Israelite’s ox or sheep wandering away, don’t ignore it. Take it back to its owner. ² If the owner does not live close to you, or if you do not know who the owner is, take the animal home with you. Keep it until the owner comes looking for it; then give it back.
